Terre Haute South Athletic Department is proud to announce the winners of the Jay Engle Academic Award. This award is given to the athletes that display leadership in their sport and in the classroom. This seasons winners are Girls Swimming and Diving’s Lauren Kirchner and Wrestling’s Moses Hamm. Brian Mancuso Newcomer Award-Brynn Ogsbury and Alex Rose

The THS Athletic Department is happy to announce the winners of the winter sports Brian Mancuso Newcomer Award. The winners are dancer Brynn Ogsbury and wrestler Alex Rose. Both of these freshmen were outstanding contributors to their respective teams. Congratulations to both!

McPike Ready to Wrestle at State

Senior Brendan McPike has worked hard for four years and he’s finally made it to state. McPike was the Sectional and Regional Champion at 182 lbs. and finished 4th Semi-State to qualify for the State Finals. McPike will wrestle against Merriville’s Khris Walton at Bankers Life Friday night.

Wrestling Win Terre Haute’s First Regional Championship

Saturday, our Wrestling team won Terre Haute’s first ever Regional Championship. 10 wrestlers advanced to Semi-State competition this weekend in Evansville. Results: 113-Gary Bays, 2nd 120-Harrison May, 4th 132-Gabe Recknor, 3rd 138-Nate Recknor, 3rd 152-Moses Hamm, 2nd 160-Nate Lommock, 4th 170-Nick Casad, 4th 182-Brendan McPike, 1st 195-Christian Verst, 3rd 220-Josh Howell, 1st  

Wrestling Finishes 2nd at Sectionals

At Bloomington North, our wrestling team finished 2nd behind Bloomington South. The Braves advanced 13 wrestlers to next weeks regional. Hammer Stays Put For Fourth Year

Braves dominated rival Terre Haute North with a score of 58-6.  The Braves only lost at two weights. They retained the Hammer for 4th year in a row. Wrestling Has a Weekend to Remember

What a weekend for wrestling! It started with a Senior Jaryn Strong placing 2nd in the female wrestling state tournament. This was Jaryn’s highest finish at state. Saturday they did something no Terre Haute team has ever done, win a conference title. Champions were Gary Bays, Moses Hamm, Brendan McPike, and Josh Howell.

Wrestling Suffers First Dual Defeat of the Season

Terre Haute South was defeated by Bloomington South 43-28 Wednesday .  Terre Haute South (9-1) will compete Saturday at the conference indiana tournament.
