Game Recap

An Orian Roshel 26 yard field goal with 1:30 left proved to be the difference as Terre Haute South edged Castle 31-28 to open IHSAA Sectional play. The Braves avenged a week 1 loss to the Knights on the same field.
South opened scoring on a Jase Dressler 2 yard run in the 1st and extended their lead to 14-0 on a Nick Hale 45 yard reception from Collins Turner. Castle and South traded scores and the Braves led 21-7 at the break, although Castle ended the 2nd quarter at the 1 yard line. Dressler’s 3rd touchdown run gave South a 2 score lead in the 4th quarter, but Castle managed to tie the game with 6:46 left. South then drove the field to set up the field goal and then stopped Castle on 4 straight plays to secure the win.
Dressler had 32 carries for 138 yards and 3 scores. Collins Turner was 8-14 with 1 TD and 1 INT for a total of 102 yards. Nick Hale had 3 catches for 65 yards and a score, while Dressler and Carter Herrin added 2 receptions.
South plays at Terre Haute North next Friday for the IHSAA Sectional 16 championship. Kickoff is slated for 6pm.
